South Australian Championship & Candidates 2017

An event every week that begins at 12:00 am on Tuesday, repeating until April 4, 2017

When: 7:00 p.m consecutive Tuesdays from February 7th to April 4th
Venue: The Chess Centre of South Australia,
10 Ranelagh Street, Adelaide.
Entry Fee: $150, Concession $100.
$20 late entry fee after Saturday 4th of January 2017.
The Candidates tournament is open to all players.
Qualification limits apply for entry to the State Championship.
Format:
State Championship: 9 rounds, round-robin. FIDE and ACF Rated.
SA Candidates: 9 rounds, Swiss draw. ACF rated.
Time Control:  90 minutes + 30 seconds per move.
Prizes:
SA Championship
1st: $750
2nd: $320
3rd: $160
SA Candidates
1st: $400
2nd: $200
3rd: $150
 
The SA Championship is a qualifying tournament for the $10,000 Sulik prize.

In addition to prizes, the winner of the Candidates tournament qualifies for the 2018 SA Championship tournament.

The Candidates tournament also has a $150 prize for the best rating performance.
