Hosworth Foundation FIDE Grand Prix 2024

One of the Premier chess events of the year!


This event runs alongside Hosworth Foundation FIDE High Flyers 2024

When: Saturday 5th of October to Monday 7th of October, 2024
Venue: The Chess Centre of South Australia,
10 Ranelagh Street, Adelaide.
Format: 6 rounds, Swiss System
Rated: FIDE and ACF rated
Schedule: 10:00am and 2:30pm each day
Players may request TWO half point bye in Rounds 1 – 5
with prior approval from the arbiter.
Entries will be accepted at the door up until 15 minutes before the start of first round. Late entries after this time may not be paired for Round 1.
All registered players MUST check in at least 15 minutes before the start of the first round – or notify the officials via message or call. Pre-registered players who do not arrive before check-in closure may not be paired for Round 1.
Time Control: 90 minutes + 30 seconds a move

Forfeit time is 30 minutes from commencement of play

Entry Fee: Adult – $100
Concession – $80 (Seniors, Students, Unemployed)
Junior – $70

Free entry to W/GM and W/IM applicants

Prizes: $2,000 in prizes!

International players must have a FIDE ID from their home federation before the start of the tournament. International players who do not have a FIDE ID before the start of the tournament will not be allowed to play.


Pennant Teams Competition 2024

When: 6:45 for 7:00pm start on consecutive Tuesdays, from 24th of September until the 3rd of December, 2024
Venue: The Chess Centre of South Australia,
10 Ranelagh Street, Adelaide.
Entry Fee: $12 per night
This tournament is open to all players.
Teams are expected to field players for all boards every round. Teams are highly encouraged to have reserves.
Format: 11 round ACF-rated teams competition.
4 players per team, Swiss Draw or Round Robin.
Time Control: Fischer – 60 Minutes + 30 Seconds a move
Grade Restrictions A-Grade: None
B-Grade: Under 1600 ACF
C-Grade: Under 1000 ACF

C-Grade will only occur if enough interest
