4 | Top Lists | Some differences between the ACF's Top Players lists and those published here have been identified e.g. players listed who don't qualify the ACF's '30-rated games' rule. | work-in-progress |
3 | Duplicate foreign key (name-state) | Updating ratings in the SACA database is made difficult when new ratings are not published against the players' ACF Ids. The problem stems from the fact that some players share the same name as other players in their state; further, there are some cases of players being registered more than once in the SACA database. | solved: testing |

2 | Statistics page | Out of 47 thousand registered player IDs, the Statistics webpage claims almost 45 thousand are classified as being either a new or unrated player!
Analysis of ACF rating files (Sep-2022): • Active players: 3520 players total, 2471 have a rating (notwithstanding duplicate records) • Quick players: 3269 players total, 2230 have a rating (notwithstanding duplicate records). • Master list: 47176 IDs total, 14381 have a current rating.
Solved - It turns out these counts are entirely reasonable. The ACF master list includes thousands of new chess players every year, mostly school children. Further, players who have gone to the big chess tournament in the sky are sadly removed from the master list, and so the numbers of new players greatly outweighs the rest. | solved |
1 | Player rankings | The rankings displayed on each player's profile may be inaccurate. Further, lists of top players might erroneously include inactive players. | fixed |
