In the interest of safety during these challenging times, the following policies have been implemented at the Chess Centre:
• Standard 1.5m social distancing protocol will apply.
• The traditional pre/post game handshake will not be permitted; nor any other physical contact.
• Use of hand sanitiser will be mandatory on entry and exit.
• Your name and telephone number will need to be recorded on entry.
• Clipboards will not be used, only score sheets.
• Pieces and clocks will be sanitised by staff after the tournament.
• The four discrete areas of the Centre (tournament hall, office, analysis room and canteen) will be subject to strict maximum occupancy rules as per the signage.
• In addition to the usual tournament official(s), identified stewards will be on hand to ensure compliance.
• Anyone exhibiting coronavirus symptoms consistent with a reasonable person’s understanding thereof will be asked to leave.
