With the health and safety of our players in mind, SACA has come to the difficult decision to change our policy on requirements to enter and play chess at the Chess Centre. From the 1st of March, all players who are twelve (12) and over must be double vaccinated against Covid to enter the Chess Centre. This rule will also apply to spectators, but will not apply to any person who is medically exempt.
Players will be required to show; once only, proof of their vaccination status to a SACA committee member or tournament official. We will accept any proof of vaccination – physical or digital.
Players who are not double vaccinated by the 1st of March but have received their first dose and a scheduled appointment time for their second will be permitted to enter the Chess Centre in good faith and acknowledgement that they are soon to be double vaccinated.
