What’s on at the South Australian Chess Centre

Over the coming weeks the SA Chess Association will be holding the following events.

Australia Day Allegro

• When : Monday 26th January at 12:15 for a 12:30 start
• Time control : 15 min + 2 sec per move
• Format : 7 round Swiss
• Entry fee : $20 if before Sunday, 25th January and $25 thereafter

State Championship and Candidates

• When : 3rd February at 6:45 for a 7:00 start over nine consecutive Tuesdays
• Time control : 90 min + 30 sec per move

     Championship:

• Format  : Nine rounds round robin (one round per night)
• Entry fee : $140 if before Saturday, 31st January and $160 thereafter – concession available.

     Candidates:

• Format  : Nine rounds Swiss (one round per night)
• Entry fee : $120 if before Monday, 2nd February and $140 thereafter – concession available.

Expressions of Interest: Assistant Tournament Director

The SA Chess Association is in particular need of an Assistant Tournament Director. The role will be one of understudy to the current tournament director and integral to the succession management of the tournament director role over the coming years.
